About me
I’m Alison Zorraquin, a humanistic integrative counsellor and a registered member of The British Association For Counselling And Psychotherapy (MBACP). I offer a calm, supportive space where you can talk openly, make sense of what’s been happening, and begin to feel more grounded.
The name Curious Minds Counselling reflects how I approach therapy — with warmth, openness, and a genuine interest in understanding what life feels like for you. I believe that curiosity, rather than judgment, helps us get to know ourselves better and find new ways forward.
Before becoming a counsellor, I lived in South America for 11 years while raising my family. Moving between cultures and rebuilding a sense of home gave me a personal understanding of change, uncertainty and what it can feel like to be in-between stages of life. It was myown experience of therapy that inspired me to retrain as a counsellor.
Through my work with STARS (Sexual Trauma and Recovery Service), I have experience supporting people affected by trauma and loss, including sexual trauma and its impact on trust, relationships and everyday life.
Outside of work, I enjoy nature, dog walks and being creative. I particularly enjoy making ceramics on the wheel and am slowly filling the house with my creations! I live on the south coast of England with my family and our Labrador, Marley
Some clients like Marley to be present during sessions and find his company calming. This is always optional and guided by your preference.
